The anchor resident of the Free Economic Zone “Karakul” Gas Chemical Complex based on MTO technology was recognized as the winner in the nomination “Breakthrough of the Year in ESG 2023” at the 10th International Conference “Oil and Gas Refining and Oil and Gas Chemistry of Central Asia and the Caspian Sea”, held from 12 to 14 September in Almaty,

The Gas Chemical Complex based on the MTO technology (GCC MTO) was recognized for its achievements in the field of environmentally sustainable production, social responsibility and efficient resource management.

The awarding of GCC MTO in the nomination ” Breakthrough of the Year in ESG 2023″ is s an honorable recognition of its contribution to building a modern gas chemical production facility. The Complex is an advocate of active application of advanced methods to reduce harmful emissions, efficient utilization of natural resources, reduction of negative environmental impact, as well as socio-economic development of the regions where it operates.

This award confirms the position of GCC MTO as an innovative leader in terms of not only deep processing of hydrocarbon resources and production of high value-added products on their basis, but also in terms of implementation of advanced ESG practices that contribute to the development of both the industry and the entire region.
