
The first resident of Free Economic Zone “Karakul” was determined
Gas chemical complex on the basis of MTO technology (GCK MTO) has become the first participant of Karakul Free Economic Zone in Bukhara region.
The enterprise received a 225-hectare land plot for the use with a perspective of 30 years.
According to the results of auction, the Directorate of Free Economic Zone Karakul signed investment agreement with Gas Chemical Complex MTO Central Asia LLC to build gas-chemical enterprise during 2022-2025 and produce polymer raw materials to be supplied to other participants of free economic zone and local producers.
It is planned that the gas-chemical complex on the basis of MTO will become the anchor resident of Karakul Free Economic Zone, which will manufacture over 730,000 tons of polymer products annually.
Masrur Shakirov, general director of the MTO Gas Chemical Complex:
“The MTO Gas Chemical Complex will be a part of the gas chemical cluster. Jointly with the related industries we will produce from gas the products demanded in the Republic of Uzbekistan for automotive, textile, food, medical and other industries.
Around 2,000 direct and another 10,000 indirect jobs will be concentrated in the territory of the FEZ”.
