A new batch of equipment has arrived at the Free Economic Zone (FEZ) “Karakul” for the MTO Gas Chemical Complex

The FEZ “Karakul” continues its steady development with the arrival of a new batch of high-tech equipment from Air Products and Chemicals for its anchor resident, the MTO Gas Chemical Complex (MTO GCC). A key component of this shipment is a high and low-pressure column designed for methanol production.

Manufactured at Air Products and Chemicals’ facility in Shanghai, the equipment will be installed at the MTO GCC as part of the “methanol island” – a special facility for conversion of methane into methanol. To ensure safety and convenience, a specially prepared site within the FEZ “Karakul” has been designated for the equipment’s storage.

This shipment marks a significant milestone in the implementation of the MTO GCC project and contributes to the ongoing development of other enterprises within the FEZ “Karakul.” The methanol produced at the GCC MTO will serve as a key raw material for several manufacturers in the zone, supporting the expansion of their production capacities and stimulating the region’s economic growth.

The FEZ “Karakul” project continues to progress dynamically, offering investors optimal conditions for large-scale industrial projects. Additional equipment shipments are expected soon, further advancing the phased and well-organized construction of the MTO GCC. Each shipment brings the FEZ closer to becoming a major industrial and investment hub, benefiting not only the MTO GCC but other enterprises within the FEZ as well, providing essential resources, and enabling the production of high-value-added products.
